Burnley vs Watford(match preview)

Burnley is coming from a 2:1 defeat away to Huddersfield last weekend. After a goalless halftime, home side simply was much better and came strongly into the second half, getting a 2:0 lead while the players of Burnley only reacted near the end of the match when they managed to get a consolidation goal.

Player of Burnley had many complaints after the game about the arbitration of it, but coach Sean Dyche has said that the very bad pitch, as well as arbitration, brought the poor result for them, as he believes the penalty shouldn’t have been given to Huddersfield. In any way, Burnely is playing consistently poor in recent weeks as they didn’t get a victory in last four matches, having three draws and a defeat. Only good thing in front of this game is their tradition with Watford, as they are undefeated in last seven matches playing at home. They are still ranked at the second position, with only three points less than leaders from Leicester and will have a target tonight set to getting back to the winning ways. Home side will be without suspended central defender Duff (13/0), while defensive midfielder Marney (13/0) and winger Wallace (3/0) remain sidelined with injuries.

Watford, on the other side, is coming from another poor performance as they suffered a 3:0 defeat at home against one of the weakest sides in the league Yeovil. Home side had ball possession without creating anything, while the visitors scored two goals easily. Later on, players of Watford tried to do something more again, but the visitors were simply much more efficient, getting a 3:0 victory in injury time.

With this defeat under their backs, team of Watford now counts six consecutive matches without a victory, while the position of coach Gianfranco Zola is under threat. Still, he sounded quite calm in his statements after the game regarding the questions about his future, while he said that the team is big trouble and has to work very hard for their way out of it. More worrying is that they suffered four defeats in those six matches, but no doubt that the team will try to get a positive result today against a team that could be their play-off battle rival later on. Defensive part of the game is hurt with missing of Doyley (11/0) and Belkalem (5/0) while doubtful is goalkeeper Almunia (16/0) and midfielder Abdi (5/0).

The match is a great opportunity for Burnley to return to their good performances at home and get a three pointer. However, Watford has no time to wait anymore and the visitors should also attack, making the game very open with both teams netting couple of goals.

Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.92
