Real madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that Xabi Alonso can provide him with the good "christmas present" by signing a new contract

The holding midfielder's current deal is as a result of expire at the top of the season, however Ancelotti has stressed that dancer remains a key figure for madrid associated hopes the 32-year-old can sign an extension before the top of the year.

"I would love Xabi Alonso to sign a replacement deal as my Christmas gift," Ancelotti told reporters.
